One of our favorite movies is Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou? We had recorded this song as a family about a year before, but the quality just wasn't up to par for an album. We decided to do it again, but this time I researched the history of the song a bit and found that it had changed some over the years - primarily, the word "valley" had been replaced by "river". I decided to use the original word, but stay close to the arrangement from the movie soundtrack...
lyrics
THE GOOD OLD WAY
(George H. Allan)
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Oh, fathers, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
Oh, fathers, let's go down
Down in the valley to pray
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Oh, mothers, let's go down
Come on down, don't you wanna go down
Come on, mothers, let's go down
Down in the valley to pray
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Oh, brothers, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
Come on, brothers, let's go down
Down in the valley to pray
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Oh, sisters, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
Come on, sisters, let's go down
Down in the valley to pray
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Come on, sinners, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
Come on, sinners, let's go down
Down in the valley to pray
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way
"WIND, presenting passionate music with high-flying flute, guitar acrobatics and killer chorus sections, seem to have no
hard time proving they can win over even the average music listener."
