This song was written by some good friends of ours back in the late 70s. Always thought it was funny!

A shout out to our friend Gary Chumney who played drums on this EP. When we were preparing to cut Sugar Blues, it was just him and me in the studio - him on the kit and me on guitar. I talked him through the arrangement (and the middle section is a bit tricky!), and once I did, I asked Gary if he wanted to run through it before recording. Before we began rehearsing it I decided to turn on "record," and what you hear is Gary's first time to run through the song - he played exactly what I was looking for, remembering verbatim every stop, every rhythm change, every verse & instrumental section...absolutely amazing!

And for any Allman Brothers fans, yes...the 6/8 organ solo is a total rip-off from Stormy Monday! ;)
