Nori: This song came out of a time of dealing with some deep unresloved issues in my life, having mostly to do with my past. It's incredible to learn how our present can be so dictated by negative things that have happened to us, when they don't have to be. Thanks to the grace of God and the mercy shown to us on the cross, we can be free! Actually, this one started with the second line, "Sailing...," and developed from there. I envisioned myself drifting down a peaceful stream, but then realized that life really is a series of ups and downs, happiness and sadness, victories and defeats. Anyone who says their life is always on top is full of it!

I asked our friend Kazuya Takagi to translate this one, and he came up with a translation that, from what we've been told, really expresses the heart of a Japanese in the way that he/she would express it. Thanks, Kaz!

Musically, this one is a bit of James Taylor during the verses, contrasted by modern rock on the choruses...

Barbie - Kazuya's wife, Mari, sings on this song. She and Kaz have quite a unique love story. Nori and I were honored to sing at their wedding, and Lizzie and Cynthea were their flower girls. We are priveleged to have her sing on our CD, but more so, as a friend.
