about

I wanted to write an account of some of the missionary trips we've taken over the past 10 years...

Definitely Bruce Cockburn influenced.

lyrics

IN ONE ACCORD
(Nori Kelley)

The warm sun shines down on Omsk
Summer of 1998
We’re here to help make an album with our friends
Teens and twenty somethings anxious to record

We befriend a folk group called Western S
And even a local club owner
This one’s KGB, that’s one’s mafia
And everyone has at least two eyes on them...

Waffle dogs from a street vender for lunch
We work in the afternoon
Korean instant noodles for dinner
Siberia’s catching up with the west...

Let’s make some music
And worship the Lord
Lifting our voices
In one accord

Old pickup truck kicks up the dust
In old Mexico
We’re here to help pour cement for a cinder block building
A retreat center for La Vina

Beans and tortillas at Santo’s for lunch
We work in the afternoon
Beans and tortillas at Santo’s for dinner
And afterward we gather...

Let’s make some music
And worship the Lord
Lifting our voices
In one accord

Beautiful views from the coastal road
Of the Irish spring
We’re here to help our friends with a weekend of music
And check out the local pub

Rocks, hills, gorse, sheep
And the Giant’s Causeway
I think of ancestors who may have walked this very path
Hundreds of years ago

Fish and chips wrapped in newspaper for lunch
We rest in the afternoon
Soup and homemade bread at the center for dinner
At eight we put on our instruments and play...

Let’s make some music
And worship the Lord
Lifting our voices
In one accord

Neon signs, fast trains, tremors and J-pop
In the Land of the Rising Sun
We’re here to help make records with our friends
And to help show them how

Fireworks, festivals, smiles and bows
And offers of takoyaki
I feel so at home, yet out of place
But isn’t that how it’s supposed to be?

Rice balls and bentos for lunch
We work in the afternoon
Hamburg at Saiyzeria for dinner
It just doesn’t get any better...

Let’s make some music
And worship the Lord
Lifting our voices
In one accord
