I Will Bless The Lord (Bonus)

from Small Town, Big God by WIND

/

about

This little song was written back in the early 80's, with the lyrics taken directly from Psalm 34. It served as a concert opener for quite sometime. It was originally recorded in 1982 and appeared on an album of various artists called, Generic Christian Music, released in 1983. Barbie & I later recorded it during the sessions for Small Town - Big God, but for some reason we decided not to include it on the album. It remains in the vaults!

Musically, it was influenced by an old favorite of mine, Jesse Colin Young.

lyrics

I WILL BLESS THE LORD
(Nori Kelley)

I will bless the Lord at all times
His praise shall continually be in my mouth
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord
The humble shall hear it
The humble shall hear it
The humble shall hear it and rejoice

O taste and see that the Lord is good
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him
Oh, fear the Lord, you, His saints
For to those who fear Him
For to those who fear Him
For to those who fear Him there is no want

The young lions do lack and suffer hunger
But they who fear the Lord
Shall not be in want of any good thing
