At the time I wrote this song, I was single. I don’t remember everything that I was thinking then, but I know what I’ve learned from being a parent now. As an adult, we have the opportunity to choose how we want to parent our children. We can take the good from our childhoods, and leave the bad behind. Easier said than done! I am so thankful to be in a relationship with God while being a parent. He has changed me in so many ways that I could have never done on my own. There is no other way to change generations and generations of sin, but with Jesus in our lives.
