As a young believer of 17, I was looking out at the life that lay before me, having no clue what was ahead. This song came out of that contemplation, and the new realization that Jesus said, "I will never leave you or forsake you." After not hearing or thinking about this song for many years, I now see that it really was prophetic in nature, describing the lives Barbie & I been called to live, even to this day.

On the songwriting / musical side, this was heavily influenced by Al Stewart and the Strawbs.
